Fairways to scoring heaven

The best way to set up more scoring opportunities on your approach is to find more fairways from the tee. Other than it being easier to play from the fairway, it’s also so satisfying to walk off the tee and onto the short grass knowing that’s where you’ll stay. We want you to experience that satisfaction more often.

The Open Championship

This year’s Open Championship was a great watch and produced a deserved winner in Xander Schauffele. From the drama on Saturday with the extremely challenging weather conditions, to the packed leaderboard on Sunday, this Open was a great watch. On the final hole I had the feeling that Justin Rose, Billy Horschel and Thriston Lawrence were proud of how they had played and were simply beaten by the better man on the day.

The 152nd Open Championship hosted by Royal Troon Golf Club

This year’s Open Championship is about a 40 minute drive from Largs, where I grew up on the west coast of Scotland. It is also where I made my only venture to try and qualify for the Open in 1989, a great experience from a young, under-prepared professional. That year, American Mark Calcavecchia won, but I still remember the great Greg Norman birding the first six holes on the last day to shoot a course record 64 only to lose in a playoff along with Australian Wayne Grady.
